ReplyDeleteIn my opinion,commitment to common goals and the support of our friends and family is very important to cross-cultural couples. Cross-cultural couples need more support and understanding from their family and friends in order to overcame obstacles in their relationships.Not everyone understands the motives behind such a relationship or appreciates the bonds that a cross-cultural couple shares. Therefore,comfort and support from beloved family and friends are important to cross-cultural couples.

ReplyDeletei agree with what yee ting has said. a cross cultural couples need to give a full commitment in their relationship. they also must try to be more understanding to each other. only with that, the relationship between both of them can last longer.
I also agree with both of you..in addition a secret to a successful cross-cutural relationship is when we can adapt other culture very well. It just like how we can accept someone and her belief. When we can accept this aspect so we will respect each other which is the most important element in relationship..

ReplyDeleteTo adapt our partner's culture well there is no doubt that we must have good communication skills and patience while communicating with each other.Sometimes cross-cultural couples might argue over certain things due to semantic problem in communication process. Therefore pateince and understanding important in order to please our partner.

ReplyDeleteI agree wit yee ting.. good communication is very important, but not everyone can deal with it. When the couples cummonicate with each others, they need to be honest and listening openly to one another. This will help the couples being more harm, comfort, happy, and feel safe to share something with their partners. This situation will makes the relationship be more alive and full of happiness.. ReplyDeletePerhaps there is another way to make cross-cultural romantic relationshipbecome successful. Both cross-cultural couples have to learn spoken language, norm or culture from their partner, try to get along well with their partner's friends and family. As time goes on, i believe family members or friends will accept their patners for who they are. Therefore, before introducing partner to friends and family, cross-cultural couples have to learn and get along well with their partner's family and friends. Hence, family members and friends are able to recognise his/her character and personality.

ReplyDeletewell.. actually a cross cultural romantic relationship is not a very different with a standard romantic relationship.. the basic thing that a couple need to do when they establish their relationship is they needs to be well-prepared in every aspect of their life. this include the time that they will spend with each other, the willingness to sacrifice to each other,etc... if they not matured enough to build this relationship, they will not be able to face the obstacle that might occur in their relationship.

ReplyDeleteanother thing that a cross cultural relationship need to do in order to success in their relationship is both person need to have a lot of patient while go thourgh this relationship.. in some country, a cross cultural relationship is not very reccommended because the streotype of the ways of thinking by society. they think that something like cross cultural relationship will not last long. so, the couple need to be patience while handling this kind of situation. people might says everything they want to but it is the couple's responsibility to make sure that their relationship is stable and not being inffluence by what people might says and think. :)

ReplyDeleteby the way,there's another thing that we always miss when we're talking about this matter.. the very important thing that establish the relationship is the trust between each other... well, if we go to any part of the world, the same problem that occur in the relationship is the person of couple is not very confident with their partner. they cannot fully trust their partners and when they heard some news about their partner, they will believe it without find out the truth. of course it will lead to the failure of their relationship.so,thats why the trust among each other is very important when we're in relationship. :)
