ReplyDeletei agree there is pros & cons for cross-cultural relationship. For me the pros is when we are not being ethnocentrisme in this case. This is because we are not saying that we are good in everything than other race or ethnic,so we can learn each other. However the cons is many of us can't perfectly understand or learn how to adapt other culture and belief. This two sensetive issue might be the reason of broke up because we are teach to respect our culture, belief and custom.

ReplyDeleteWhen peolple invilve themselves in intercultural relationships,it is actually bridging the cultural gap as it helps the society get rid of this kind of stereotypes so that people are able to enjoy the experience of something or someone different in a more in-depth and personal approach. Thus, people appear to be more accepting and understanding towards interracial relationships.

ReplyDeleteThere are good side and dark side when ones involve in this kind of relationship. One of he pros of this relationship is it can help the couples be more tough and patient to face the obstacles in their relationship. Besides, it also can pretend as the teacher for the couples to teach them to be more tolerant and respect to each other. This kind of pros are needed in order to sustain the cross cultural romance relationship (^^,)

ReplyDeleteAfiqah i partly agree with your point whereby multicultural relationships do helps cross-cultural couples become tougher and patient in order to face challenges in future life. As they involve in this kind of relationships, they have to get ready either mentally of physically because people around the society might look at them with different or negative perspective. Hence, as they go through these obstacles, it is actually give them more strength to overcome others challenges in future life.
Nevertheless, if cross-cultural couples are not able to cope with that problem, this might affect them mentally indeed. Perhaps they might have certain negative view towards certain ethnicity as a result if failre in pass interracial relationships.

ReplyDeletewell... there's another big problems that will occured when a couple involved in cross cultural relationship... a problem that related to both's person belief will give a big effect to the relationship... the different's belief between each person in the cross cultural relationship will bring a gap between of them.. then,it might lead to the failure of the relationship... so, in order to prevent something like that happen, the couple need to negotiate with each other and try to solve the problem. this is the tme where the couple need to learn how to 'give and take' in their relationship. only in this way, the problem will be solved.

ReplyDeleteemm.. talking about the pro that we will get if we involved in a cross cultural relationship is we can learn and know about other's culture. from here, we can learn how to respect other's culture. and it was a perfect time when our prime minister launch a concept of '1 Malaysia'.
by having this kind of relationship, its not that we just have fun with each other, but we also have follow the concept that has been introduce by our goverment, isn't it? :)

ReplyDeletehaving a cross cultural relationship is very interesting, especially when we involved with an international relationship... :) but, there's something that we need to consider first before we can move to the next step. having a good financial will be very helpful while we're having a cross cultural relationship especially if we have a relationship with someone from another country. we will need to spend a lot of money to make a call ar if we has decide to live in another country, we need to renew our visas, etc... without enough money,it's quite impossible to continue this kind of relationship.

ReplyDeletehaving a cross cultural relationship meant that we are willing to accept everything about our partner. then, just like another relationship, we have to learn how to sacrified to establish this relationship. acctually, it is not a really big problem at all but a person who involved in cross cultural romantic relationship need to prepare to live abroad. after they get married, of course they want to work and earn money to continue living. usually, a person will bring their partner to live with them in their country. so, their partners need to prepare to being apart from their family. then, they need to bear the feeling of 'homesickness' about missing their hometown.

ReplyDeletei do think that cross-cultural couples might face alot of challenges in multicultural relationships when either one of thier family members or friends do not approve or support them. if cross-cultural couples are do not bother about others point of view, they might trying to solve the problem by living abroad hence they do not need to please people around them. however, this seems to be the worst way to overcome te problems. perhaps in future, their children might ask about their grandparents and these cross-cultural couples could not give an answer to their children.
